BOGIE BAGS SECOND SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIP
Well done to David Bogie/Kevin Rae on securing their second Scottish Rally Championship after winning the Hankook Merrick Stages Rally. David was quickest out of the box on Special Stage 1 - Glentrool to grab a 7 second lead over Jock Armstrongs Subaru, Paul Benn in his WRC Focus was 3rd equal fastest with Shaun Sinclairs much improved Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 9.
Bogies Oakbank Services EVO dropped 6 seconds to Benn on the next stage Craignell & then woke up to set a blistering time through SS3 - Drigmore to take his second stage win of the day by an incredible 15 seconds over such a short distance of 4.5 miles.
At this point it looked like a stroll in the park for Bogie & Rae, Jock & Kirsty obviously had a diferent outlook & went for broke as the cars entered SS4 - Arroch Hill. Here the Holy Socks pairing kept the foot in overtaking Benn for second place reducing the margin & overall lead by 8 seconds going into the last stage, Game On!!
The Subaru Impreza of Alick Kerr had also overtaken Benn & was now lying in 3rd spot albeit a dodgy gearbox.
The short final 5th stage at Borgan of just over 4 miles reduced the deficit between Armstrong & Bogie by a mere 3 seconds to secure the win for David & Kevin, they had played it right by going flat out from the start of the gruelling 19 miler in Glentrool.
The 2nd & 3rd placings in the championship will go down to the wire on the Colin McRae Stages, can't wait!

BRC NEWS
TODSLEAP.COM ULSTER RALLY
Craig Breen/Gareth Roberts once again shone through in the Ford Fiesta S2000 to take a convincing win in the 2010 Todsleap.com Ulster Rally. This win was long overdue after missing out earlier on in the year whilst leading the Jim Clark International only to suffer retirement with engine failure. Well done to the duo & it would be great to see half a dozen or more of the S2000 cars taking part in the BRC next year, this is definately the way forward for entertainment value in International Rallying.

Keith Cronin tried his best in the Pirelli/TEG Sport Impreza to keep pace with young Breen & at times seemed to be wringing the Subarus neck to the point where it looked as though he too could have ended up having a huge off into the scenery just like Dave Weston/Ieuan Thomas had on SS1 Knockboy.
Citroens debut of the new DS3 R3 in the hands of test driver Patrick Bouffier had an outstanding 5th place result & 1st in class.
